Back in the U.S.A.

Well, my trip back to the ‘homeland’ has ended, and I’m back to my home in the States. My cat Simon was well-cared for while I was away, but when I came home he  rolled over and asked for his belly to be rubbed, a sure sign that he missed me.   I’ve found myself becoming immediately sucked back into watching the NFL playoff games, but because of jet lag, I fell asleep in middle of each of the games. I would’ve spent the afternoons watching football/sleeping had my sister not made me go outside my home to do some grocery shopping.

And how else could I return back to normalcy of my American life? Have an ECT, of course. The ECT is scheduled to occur in about six hours. Perhaps it’s the jet lag, but I’m currently wide awake–probably because I’m also  a little nervous. This one is the first one of this year, and I guess a part of me is having to come to terms with the fact that this year will again include electroconvulsive therapy treatments.

It’s good to be home, but we’ll see just how much better ‘good’ becomes in a few hours from now.
