  1. Very interesting notes. I have had several series of ECT and I get maintenance treatments every 4-6 weeks-a total of over 250 treatments in 14 years. My feelings are mixed-the treatments help significantly, but I do have moderate memory loss. In July, a treatment left me confused and anxious for days-the reason is not clear. I struggle to cope with the stigma of ECT. Also, there is only one hospital in my area that offers ECT, and the treatment experience is dehumanizing. I hope that you remain in good health.

  2. I had 48+ treatments. I wish I had asked questions but really at the time I just didn’t want to wake up, ever. I still have med problems and depression. I would like to return to ECT but my husband is very much against it. The memory loss I’ve had is also concerning.

  3. Shawn: thanks for the comment. sorry it took so long to respond. when my fiance told me that he saw clear changes in me as i kept getting ECT, it really scared me. plus the costs piled up, and i just stopped. there are some new treatments out there that’s not as invasive but effective (i’ll find the story out for you and get back to you).
